Wine and Love Thursday

Wine:
-Packing. It really sucks. Luckily I've been slowly working on it for a week (thank goodness for quitting my job 10 days before we scheduled to leave--it's made all the difference in the world) but still, packing is no fun.

-Saying goodbye. I am hugely sentimental and saying goodbye to people and places has been really sad.

-Feeling like there is unfinished business out there. I know that we can always come back and visit Chicago (and we will!) but that won't be the same as living here.

Love:
-I'm not going to lie, not going to work is pretty darn nice. I mean sure, I'm spending my days packing and cleaning instead, but it's in my pajamas in the comfort of my own home. I set my schedule and I can eat or work out whenever I want.

-I got a start date for the new job: September 6. That means I have a month to unpack and explore Pittsburgh, which is going to be awesome. I didn't want to be totally rushed and going to work during the day only to come home at night and have to unpack and organize. I'll be starting work around the same time D starts school and I think the timing is perfect.

-The weather has been a bit more bearable this week and I have been a running machine. I'm trying to get as much time on the Lakefront Path and at Northerly Island as I can before we leave.

-Yesterday we went to two museums in our neighborhood, Glessner House and Clarke House. We've lived across the street from them for a year and only just made it over there yesterday, which is free tours day. Unemployment means we're both available on a Wednesday afternoon so we took a break from packing to soak in some history.

-We've been brainstorming some space saving solutions and I've researched wardrobes (for the two people, one small closet conundrum) and I'm feeling slightly more positive about the new place. I also talked to the current tenant and he's going to have it professionally cleaned the day before we move in, which makes me feel a lot better.

Hopefully moving and unpacking won't require a lot of wine!
