Wine:
-We booked our moving van for the end of next month and man, moving is expensive. Ugh.
-D is going to be out of town for work the week after next. Which means I’ll come home from my trip to Texas to an empty house. Boo.
-I’m getting increasingly nervous about our new apartment and how small it actually is, especially compared to the palace we live in now. There is ONE small closet (that I will be taking over). We’re still not sure what D is going to do with his clothes. I’m not kidding when I say that this one closet is smaller than the one I had in my dorm room freshman year, and that was ridiculous. We’re going to have to buy a wardrobe or something because while I can get rid of some stuff, I can’t get rid of THAT much stuff. I won’t have anything left to wear. We’re also going to explore under-the-bed storage options and perhaps building something else.
Love:
-I just checked out “As Always, Julia: The Letters of Julia Child and Avis DeVoto” from the library and I am loving it. I thought I might find it dull but it’s just lovely. They’re both funny and good writers and I love reading about the minutiae of the cookbook while already knowing how it turns out.
-The weather in Chicago was absolutely amazing on both Saturday and Sunday, and we explored and took pictures and generally enjoyed this city while we still can. Chicago in the summertime is the best place on earth.
-I had a great phone interview and am on my way to Pittsburgh next week to meet them in person. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
-D and I just discovered Northerly Island, a little park right by our apartment. I can’t believe we’ve lived there for 10 months and didn’t know about it until now. I definitely plan on running and biking there as much as I can in the near future!
-We bought a sofa! It’s a cute little loveseat actually, in the most darling teal color. Friends who were moving away didn’t want to take it with them so we bought it from them for a good deal. They needed to get rid of it and we need a sofa (our current one belongs to the landlord). I think it will work well in our tiny little Pittsburgh apartment.
-Today is my Friday because tonight I'm headed to Texas for a long weekend of weddings, family, and fun in the sun!
