If You Were a Wink, I'd Be a Nod

Due to some crazy changes and circumstances, it has been stress central in our house lately. For me, anyway. D doesn't really get stressed, which is one of the many things that I love about him. Yesterday after a particularly sweet and helpful email from him, I decided I wanted to share a few of the things that he does, says, or is that make me love him even more every day.

-He carries me to bed after I’ve fallen asleep on the couch while watching a movie or reading a book
-He will always make me roasted tomatillo salsa even though he’s so tired of it and itching to try all of the other kinds in our Rick Bayless cookbook
-When I’m stressed out or upset, instead of telling me to snap out of it or stop being a brat, he massages me shoulders to help me relax
-He will watch silly girly movies or shows with me without a single complaint. I can't say I do the same when forced to watch Lord of the Rings or Star Wars/Trek.
-He is a great cook, and pushes me to try new foods. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t know how amazing sushi was, have ever tried dim sum or hot pot, or discovered that I actually do like fish when it’s prepared well.
-He makes the bed for me every single day because he knows that I like it
-He has the best laugh. When he finds something really funny his laugh goes from a polite haha to a full on, nose crinkled, can’t breathe laugh. It’s impossible to explain or replicate but I love that laugh.
-He pushes me to try new things and break out of my comfort zone, but not too much. There are days that I’m feeling up to the challenge and days that I’m feeling like a delicate flower. He recognizes both situations and doesn’t make me feel like a lesser person for either.
-Sometimes we’ll be doing something or other and he’ll look at me and say “You’re so much fun.” People, I am not fun. I am pretty much anything but fun. And yet he, the one in this duo who is decidedly the fun one, still manages to draw me out into the sun.
