Open Mouth, Insert Foot

On Election Night I was at the pub on campus with some friends. The school had gone all out with free beer, pizza, and patriotic-themed cupcakes. There were people everywhere decked out in Obama regalia. Over the stereo system played "Young Americans" by David Bowie. Next up was "Power to the People" and then "Born in the USA." Someone at our table joked that this was the U of C pub's official specially-created Inauguration Playlist and we all laughed and nodded in agreement. Just then, "Fat Bottomed Girls" started up and we all abruptly stopped laughing and looked around in awkward silence.
