Pity, Party of One

So last night I threw myself quite the little pity party, didn't I? Gah. Well today was much better. I got up at the crack of dawn, walked five blocks to the grocery store (in the snow!) and bought provisions for the next two weeks. I underestimated how much everything would weigh, or overestimated my arm strength/capacities, but holy shit my groceries were heavy. On the way there I was all bundled up with my hood and scarf and mittens. On the way back I was lumbering along, arms akimbo and ready to fall off at any minute, sans scarf, hood, or mittens, and with my coat billowing open. I had to take little breaks and give myself pep talks about making it "to that light post!" and "just across the street and you can rest!" And I was still sweating when I got back to the apartment. The upside is that I have fulfilled my arm exercise quota for the next decade. Then I snuck into Kristina's building and decorated her door for her birthday. Yes, we are freshmen in college, or something like that. I thought it would be fun for her, when she got home tonight, to have a fun silly surprise waiting for her. Or she's going to hate it, whatevs. After I finished all that it was only about 10am so I headed to campus. I hung out in the stacks at the library until 3, gave up and went to the gym, and then back to the library until the 6pm shuttle home. I actually was kind of productive, so yay for that. When I got home I made the executive decision not to do any more work for the night, which was such a relief. I made decorations out of fun holiday wrapping paper, played Christmas carols, and baked chocolate chip cookies. Now I am waiting for the cookies to cool and contemplating watching 30 Rock on the internet. Man I can't wait until my friends get back tomorrow!
