I just watched the men's 100m relay (a day late, love DVR) and wow, that was pretty incredible. I secretly love the olympics and plan to watch my fill in the next two weeks. Watching the olympics just makes me feel so...American. Which I love and hate. I'm so conflicted. The Chinese should probably spending all this money on their country, restoring and rebuilding after the earthquake, etc, instead of on something called a Bird's Nest. The world should probably be paying a little more attention to what's going on with Russia invading Georgia and less attention to how young the Chinese gymnasts are (like omg, they are NOT all 16. No freaking way). Yet somehow, when I watch something like the men's 100m relay and it is SO CLOSE and then suddenly someone comes up from behind and wins the gold I can't help but get really freaking excited and proud. Like awww, my little Americans, good job.
