So This Is Christmas. Yes, Please.

Wow friends, Christmas break was amazing. I was holding on to my physical and mental health by my fingernails by the time December 21st came around and a long break full of sleeping in, pajamas, and a whirlwind trip to Chicago was just what the doctor ordered. Phew. My dad's birthday, on the 21st, was brilliant. We had good friends, good food, and lots and lots of wine. The next day I did not change out of my pajamas once. I read several books in one day and watched some really bad tv. It was glorious. The day after that I ran errands and lazily finished wrapping presents. I submitted all of my online applications on the 24th and sent off several more supplemental materials packets. The post office was not crowded and the guy behind the counter was super helpful! It was a frikin Christmas miracle. Christmas was nice, rather quiet, but really nice. I got lots of nice things and lots and lots of books. I have so many wonderful things to read--my queue is getting quite long. I'm very excited about having things to read and lots of time in which to read them. Chicago was brilliant--thats another post entirely--and I feel confident in saying that I could be happy in the White City, the City of the Big Shoulders. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but wow, Chicago and I could be very happy together. Happy New Year, everyone!
