In a small triumph, I called in sick to work. My boss is going to have to yell at someone else, at least if only for today. I'm not sick so much as sick of her so I'm considering it a mental health day. It also means I can talk to human resources without her knowing, and find out about filing a grievance. No, mean boss lady, it is NOT acceptable to curse at me at the same time as threatening to fire me. Normal people just don't do that.
So when I got home last night I had the mother of all headaches. I figured that I could sit at home and mope or I could go out and drink with the roommate and my only awesome co-worker. Did you know that Tuesday nights at Trudy's you can get a top shelf Mexican Martini for the same price as a bottom shelf (is that what it's called) one? Fabulous. We drank and drank and talked about boys and were very witty and fun. My only awesome co-worker, we'll call her Mo, is about as cute as one person can be. She's only been in the department a month but we're already pretty good pals. One day I stopped by her office and asked her what she did for lunch and we've pretty much been friends ever since. She's also the only other person there under 35 so I figured us younguns should stick together.
Anyway after we stumbled home last night I made the executive decision to call in sick today. I woke up a little later, had a leisurely breakfast while watching Saved By the Bell, and then went on an awesome morning bike ride. I love riding my bike when it's too hot to run and I never have time for it anymore. Then I blared the radio while I cleaned (yeah so I like to clean, you gotta problem with that?) and then took a nice long bath. I've just finished eating lunch and am pondering an afternoon nap. I wish every day could be so leisurely.
